In Case You Were Wondering—

There is so much I want to share with you today!

God has been opening some awesome doors of opportunity for Escaping the Cauldron and for me to share my testimony. I thought I'd share a few of them with you here. There are also a few changes to Kristine ReMixed we are trying out so I thought I'd give you the 411 on that as well. So, here we go!

CauldronCoverPreview In Case You Were Wondering Escaping the Cauldron went on PRE-ORDER last month.

This is so exciting, I can't even begin to tell you. Why? Well, the publisher (Charisma House/Media) is taking a chance on me as a first time author. Offering the book for pre-order allows them to see how much interest there is in the book (and this topic).

So far, Escaping the Cauldron has been doing pretty well.

The first month of pre-orders has already shown a decent sales ranking on Amazon. In fact, they've moved the price of the pre-order to a 52% discount (Seriously! They are practically giving the book away right now!)

Escaping the Cauldron must give a strong showing EVERY MONTH before the official publication date—SEPTEMBER 4thand then beyond!

The book is (partly) a personal memoir. I tried to share as much of my life with you as I could so you might understand what prompted me (although a Christian for most of my life)to turn to witchcraft, spiritualism, and ghost hunting. The book is also (partly) a Bible study. I share verses to consider, questions to talk over with friends or write in a journal.

My prayer is people will "dig deeper" into each subject using the Bible, talk about it, share their own stories (or struggles with temptation). The book includes an extensive glossary of occult terms which I hope will be useful. I also talk about things like spiritual gifts, spiritual warfare, the origins of Halloween, Harry Potter, Twilight, the Paranormal Activity movies—all from my personal perspective as a former witch, medium, and ghost hunter. There is even a Q& A section with the most common questions I'm asked.

FRIENDS, I NEED YOUR HELP! What this book needs is growing "word of mouth" buzz over the next five months!

Please, if you haven't already—go pre-order it. Ask the publisher to make it available for Kindle and Nook. Share the link to AmazonBarnes and Noble, or Christian Book Distributors with your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, church leaders, youth group leaders, women's ministry. Buy it for your church library. Talk about the book to everyone you know. Let people know it's also available in Spanish!

Share links or like the book page on Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, Myspace, Twitter, Stumble Upon, Digg It, etc.

One Final Note: This book is very different from the one I originally self-published in 2010 (same title, now out of print).  If you bought the original self-published version, trust me when I say the NEW Escaping the Cauldron is so much better! It covers my entire eight year journey, is more personal, and is a very different and complete book.

What’s in a Name?

happy st patricks day 2012 wallpaper 9 Whats in a Name?My last name may be McGuire but I'm not Irish—not by heritage anyway. My ancestors hailed from England, Norway, Denmark, and Germany.

And I'll be honest. I don't care that I'm not truly Irish.

My husband and daughters like to tease me about it a little but what can I say? I feel an affinity for all things related to the people of the Emerald Isle since marrying into the McGuire clan. When St. Patrick's Day rolls around, I wear my green with pride and make corned beef or other inspired fare for my family.

I guess my thought is that while I may only be "Irish by marriage", I now belong to that rich, vibrant heritage as much as the one I inherited from my own family. When my husband accepted me as his wife I took his name as mine—and his lineage.

Perhaps this is why in scripture the church is called the BRIDE of Christ (Revelation 19:7-9 NLT) When we accept Jesus we receive the authority of HIS NAME. We are adopted into HIS family. HIS inheritance becomes ours as we become a Royal Priesthood (1 Peter 2:9 NLT).

When I spoke the marriage covenant vow with my husband so many years ago, I began calling myself by his name— McGuire. understood as his wife I was now identifying myself with his family. This includes his Irish heritage.

You know, a lot of people will say they are a Follower of Christ (quite frankly because they don't want to identify with the church) but perhaps they are missing the bigger picture.

When I stop to think of what it means to call myself CHRISTIAN (in the context of being part of the Bride of Christ) it takes on a whole new meaning. Some how (to me at least) it means something deeper. It signifies I am doing more than following Jesus as a teacher. Rather, I have taken on HIS NAME. As a Christian who calls Jesus "LORD", I am now identifying myself as part of HIS family.

Kind of puts things into a fresh perspective, don't you think?

Special Kristine ReMixed Vlog: A Witch Welcomed Home

"There are some Christians who operate in a spirit of fear,
denying God's grace to people who have practiced witchcraft."

and have decided to share here as well.*

The Prodigal Son 01 Special Kristine ReMixed Vlog: A Witch Welcomed Home"Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them.

“Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

“When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he got up and went to his father.

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

“The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

“But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

“Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. ‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’

“The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’

“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”  Luke 11:15-32 (NIV)
