Do You Wanna Know What Bothers Me?

Do You Wanna Know What Bothers Me?

Do you wanna know what bothers me?

How many people out there do not know (or believe) God will forgive them (especially if they have done something which is seen as "dark" or worse than so called "ordinary sins").

It honestly hurts my heart to think of the many people who are missing out on a relationship with Jesus Christ because some Christian has done a more effective job of pointing fingers or condemning, rather than reaching out with the love and hope God provides to us all.

Hurts. My. Heart.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot." Matthew 5:13 NIV

There are too many people on the outside looking in. Too many hurting hearts who need to understand God offers them forgiveness and freedom. Too many who are stuck in what they've done (or are still doing) because they feel trapped with no one to light the way.

As Christians, we must stop closing the gate in people's faces because what they are doing or have done is deemed too dark, too uncomfortable, too "not Christian" enough to offer them the ear of a friend and example of what it means to love and lead as Jesus loved and led.

Time to light the way to the gate.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16 NIV
