What The Church Is Doing Right

Yesterday I wrote a blog asking "what is the church" because it seems to me that quite often American Christians mistake "the church" for the building where they worship, popular programs, or the "culture" which has grown up around "the church". However, I think it's safe to say the Bible makes it clear that "the church" or "the body of Christ" is so much more than a building or program. Rather the church is the people which come together as a faith community part of the larger whole.
Yes. It's easy to find fault with the church but I'd like to focus on what we as Christians do right…or more specifically I want to hear what YOUR particular faith community is doing to reach out and make a difference in this world. It doesn't have to be big or flashy and can be as simple as being a faith community where the stranger feels immediately welcome such as the little church my husband and I have recently started attending.
The point is this. We know what we need to fix about the church in America today, so what are we doing to make it happen? Each one of us could make a difference in how the world views the Christian faith and the church if we'll break out of the habit of being what they expect and be different. Real salt and light,
Talk to me people!
Give a shout out to what we can do to be relevant in our own families, neighborhoods, workplace, and within society so that we are truly following the example of Jesus every day.
