Monday, Monday

You know, some times, Monday's really are disappointing.  I wonder why that is?  Do you think it's because we've spent two days enjoying a favorite hobby or spending time with family and with the advent of going back to a regular work day even the small things that go wrong seem large?

Today was one of those days.  I truly did try to go into the work week with a positive attitude but then my brain and mouth didn't seem to want to communicate when I had to make business calls, leaving non-sensical messages which even I wouldn't have returned.  My heel got caught in my pants cuff poking a hole through the material.  A rather annoyed person decided to vent their frustration over a situation all over me as I was the most convenient target.  And all this happened before lunch!

Some good things did happen even in the midst of mistakes and difficult situations, providing opportunities for me to learn how to do my job better but it certainly was a long day.  Truly the best thing is not to focus on the difficulties but consider the blessings, however I confess by the time I got in the car to go home I was emotionally exhausted.

Thankfully there is a chance for a better day tomorrow.  The events of today are past, never to be experienced again…at least not the way they happened today.  There is always something we can take away from each day to learn and grow….even on a Monday.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Romans 8:28
