Safely In His Care

Some times life can seem like a long trek up a very steep mountain. You struggle to carry the burden of taking care of your family, pleasing your employer…or sticking with a job you don't like because you have no other options…obligations. Some times it seems we have a heavy pack and an awfully long way to go until we reach the top of that incline.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
As Christians I think we often times believe Jesus was going to remove all of the cares and burdens of life. What He said, however, is that while we will still have to bear some weight, what we carry for Him will be lighter than what the world demands….because He's already carried the heaviest burden to the cross.
Christmas time…while happy for many…can be a time of difficulty and sorrow for others. Yet we have a God who understands and we can trust Him to see us through the sorrows as well as the joys. We can hand our worries or griefs to Him, whatever they may be, trusting He has us safely in His care.
Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 9:10
