Manic Monday

 What is it about Monday?

I realize many people look at Monday with a sigh of regret.  The weekend fun is over, it’s time to return to the regular work a day world.  However, I have observed a phenomenon…in fact have experienced it myself this very day…whereby even when you go into a usual return to work mode with a cheerful attitude, invariably the day will have some kind of stress related to it.  Kind of like Murphy’s Law…if something is going to go wrong it will most likely be on a Monday.

A bizarre circumstance to be sure.

Even in attempting to write this blog the server refused to save it.  Thankfully I had the presence of mind to cut and paste the bulk of the text to a clipboard…just in case. There was a time in my past when I would allow these less than favorable Monday moments to get me down.  However, this only drags Tuesday down  and makes Wednesday seem ridiculously far away.  So why not make lemonade out of lemons, as the saying goes.

If you’ve had a day like mine…and I truly hope you haven’t…allow me share this verse with you.

 Philippians 4:6-7

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ.

Now I’m going to go make some hot chocolate, peanut butter fudge, and watch a little Monday Night Football with my husband.  Later I’m going to go read a good book, or do a little Christian yoga, and then spend some quiet time with the Lord.  In other words I’m going to take care of me and let the rest of Monday pass along quietly.

Tomorrow is always another day.
